Used throughout the culinary and pharmaceutical industries. Used in traditional remedies for its effects on the digestive system, and for relieving aches and pains. Spearmint oil is not as strong as peppermint oil and is considered a safer substitute in products for children.

Extraction: Spearmint essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the flowering tops of the plant.
Aroma: Spearmint essential oil has a warm, spicy-herbaceous, minty scent.

Properties: Spearmint essential oil is antiseptic, carminative and antibacterial. Used in aromatherapy massage to relieve digestive problems, aches and pains.
Uses: Massage, baths and vaporization.
Blends well with: Basil, Benzoin, Eucalyptus, Jasmine, Lavender, Lemon, Orange, Peppermint, Rosemary.
Caution: Always dilute Spearmint essential oil to 5% or less with carrier oil before application to the skin.
