Gardenia Absolute Oil

Gardenia Absolute Oil Gardenia grandiflora

Used in Chinese traditional medicine for its soothing properties and for cooling the blood and clearing away heat (a yin/yang imbalance often characterized by deficient yin).

Gardenia is commonly used in Chinese herbal formulas to treat infections, particularly bladder infections, abscesses, jaundice and blood in the urine, sputum, or stool.

Gardenia absolute is used mainly for its scent in high class perfumery.

Source: Gardenia grandiflora is grown in China.

Extraction: Gardenia Absolute Oil is solvent extracted from the fresh flowers.

Aroma: Gardenia Absolute Oil has a tropical, sweet, rich, jasmin-like scent.

Fragrance note: Middle.

Properties: Gardenia Absolute Oil is anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory.

It dissipates irritability and relieves anxiety. Gardenia absolute is also helpful in correcting menopausal imbalances reflected in insomnia and depression, nervous tension, headache, and dizziness.

Uses: Massage, baths, vaporization and may be added to base emollients. It is also used in perfumery.

Blends well with: Black Pepper, Cinnamon, Clove, Galangal, Ginger, Grapefruit seed, Lemon Verbena, Mandarin, Neroli, Jasmine, Rose and Ylang Ylang.

Caution: Always dilute Gardenia Absolute Oil to 5% or less in a carrier oil before application.
