Blue Willow mini teacup candle

• These lovely candles come with cotton wicks and have an approximate burn time of 18 hours each.

These Churchill teacups are made in England and depict the story of Blue Willow. Set in ancient China, the daughter of a wealthy mandarin was betrothed to an old rich merchant, but she was in love with her fathers' poor employee. Upon discovering this, her father imprisoned her in their pagoda, where she wrote secret messages in coconut shells and float the downstream to her love. Ever suspicious, her father hastened wedding arrangements to the old merchant. The two crossed lovers managed to elope, and sadly were caught by her father in their small escape boat on the sea. In a fit of wrath he was ready to beat them to death, but the fates intervened, turning them into a pair of turtle doves, free to fly together for eternity.
